I had never given Twitter much thought until I got my iPod Touch. Twinkle (available for free in the app store) has made reading Twitter posts extremely convenient. You can use this service to keep in touch with friends – although Facebook, Myspace, AIM, email, etc seem to function just as well.
What I hadn’t realized was that Twitter isn’t just for connecting with friends. Follow enough infrequent posters and you’ll have your own simple RSS feed. Too many frequent posters will make the experience much less enjoyable, unless you’re willing to check new messages on the hour. I’ve subscribed to a few TV show characters, a few Gizmodo/Lifehacker editors, and TouchArcade.
Since I’ve been enjoying the Twitter/iPod experience, I have started posting quick summaries and links to this blog on Twitter. If you use Twitter as sparingly as I do, you should consider following Morscata12.
