Just because it’s my cartoon doesn’t mean I don’t have my complaints. Hit the link for five things I’d change about my own cartoon (and things you should consider changing in your webcomic). Continue reading

Break for Rav and Nash Development

Nash - Second RevisionI’m taking a few weeks off from the blog to complete Rav and Nash. Don’t worry, posts will resume once the comic strip engine has been completed.

Use this post as an outlet for suggestions! If there’s anything you’d like to see from Rav and Nash, or anything you think comic strips should avoid, post it in the comments.

Quick Update – Rav and Nash

Quick update: I’m putting together a separate site for my new webcomic Rav and Nash. Once the webcomic is up and running, Morscata12 will receive regular updates again.

If you have any formatting hints/suggestions for the new website, please leave a comment. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Rav and Nash – Art Update

Nash - Second RevisionI’ve moved development of my Rav and Nash cartoon into Flash. Vector art is a much cleaner alternative to my sloppy Photoshop sketches. My plan is to create cartoon editing software for standard 2D print comics). This software will allow me to move and pose characters in the scene, place scenery objects, and write dialogue bubbles. Once a comic has been staged, I will export it to this blog in either .PNG or .GIF format.

“Rav and Nash” reboot

Odds are you haven’t seen the original run of my webcomic series Rav and Nash. I might republish some of the first run on this blog, but what I’d really like to do is reboot the series. Rebooting will apply a much-needed polish to the characters’ personalities.

More often than not, I ended up using whoever was in the scenario for what the scenario required, disregarding how they would actually respond in the scenario. This discrepancy makes me very uncomfortable – how is the reader/viewer supposed to keep track of the differences in the characters if they are interchangeable? I imagine this is one of the main reasons that die hard fans of The Simpsons are losing interest.

Here’s a demo of the art style:
